“After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.” – Matthew 4:2 (NIV)

Prayer Before Reading:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your Word, which teaches us the example of Jesus’ life and obedience. As we reflect on this verse, open our hearts to understand the significance of fasting, discipline, and relying on You. Help us draw closer to You through times of trial and strengthen our faith as we seek Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Message from the Verse:
This verse highlights Jesus’ humanity and His willingness to endure physical weakness for a spiritual purpose. After fasting for forty days and nights, Jesus was physically hungry, yet spiritually prepared for the temptation that followed. His fast was an act of devotion and preparation for His ministry, showing us the importance of seeking God through self-denial and prayer. Even in His hunger, Jesus demonstrated unwavering dependence on the Father, reminding us that spiritual strength comes from God, not earthly satisfaction.
